This month, we’re bringing even more control and visibility to your key management system. With updates that improve video monitoring, key access rules, warranties, and user functionality, your Keycafe experience just got a little bit better. Here’s what’s new:
In-App Video Recordings
Business Pro users can now view key access video recordings directly in the Keycafe mobile or desktop app. Previously only available at the SmartBox screen, this update gives you faster, remote visibility into key exchanges and activity logs.

Restrict Key Return Locations
With the new Key Roaming feature, you can now restrict where a key can be returned, ensuring that keys are dropped off at the correct SmartBox location. This helps keep keys in the appropriate areas, especially for multi-site operations, and prevents key misplacement across locations.
Keycafe Shield Extended Warranty and Upgrade Program
We’ve launched Keycafe Shield, an extended warranty program that provides perpetual protection for your SmartBox hardware, and future-proofs your investment with complimentary or discounted upgrades when new models are released.

Smarter Programmable Alerts
You now have more flexible timing with programmable alerts that can be triggered before the end of a shift or booking, as well as exactly when it ends. This update helps ensure timely returns and better coordination for time-sensitive access.

Reservations Editing and Cancellation
Users with the Reservation Access permission role can now edit or cancel their own key reservations, giving them more autonomy and reducing the admin workload for managing reservation changes.
